The challenges

Making the checkout in the store easier? We can do that!

The task was to develop a mobile, headless Shopware environment that integrates real-time data synchronization, EAN video stream recognition, full client-side rendering, employee incentives and a mobile POS system with QR code validation. These components need to be efficiently combined to create a functional and user-friendly platform.

Implementation

A user-friendly web app has been developed that is specially optimized for mobile devices. It updates data in real time, quickly recognizes products using a barcode scanner and allows customers to pay quickly and securely by scanning the QR code with their smartphone.

The Progressive Web App (PWA), based on a Shopware 6 headless environment, consistently follows a mobile-first approach. By integrating an individual data hub that we developed ourselves, we were able to ensure real-time synchronization of the data so that users can always access the latest information. A special feature is EAN recognition via a built-in video stream, which enables quick and easy product identification.

The frontend was equipped with full client-side rendering, which guarantees a smooth and responsive user experience, especially on mobile devices. In addition, measures were introduced to support employees through targeted consultations to facilitate the transition to the new environment.

The PWA offers a flexible and fast solution that adapts to different end devices. A mobile POS system that validates payments via QR codes has been integrated to optimize the sales process on site. The automated product import, which is triggered in real time by various instances, ensures that the product data is always up to date.
